Score of the Game:
20 Giants, 38 Bears
Highlights of the Game:
The showdown atop the NFC became a lowdown for the Giants. Poised to take over the top spot in the conference playoff race, the Giants squandered a 10-point first-half lead in Giants Stadium Sunday night and lost to the Chicago Bears, 38-20. The defeat ended their winning streak at five games and greatly diminished their chances of earning the top seed in the NFC Playoffs. The Giants fell to 6-3, two games behind the 8-1 Bears, who now hold the tiebreaker advantage.
Tailgate Highlights:
Ring the bells!! Wring out your clothes!! A torrential ten-hour tailgate tour-de-force sponsored by 17 E's rookie crew of Tony, John, Jeff, Kevin, Malik, andJose kept nearly 40 people well fed and up to date on the 1:00 and 4:00 football games. It rained a lot. But this could not dampen the spirits of Giants fans, for beating the Bears might mean NFC mastery. The food was on point, proving these are hardly rookies when it comes to the art of quality tailgating. Assorted dips of varying flavor matched with beer-tinged wieners and crab soup teased our taste buds, while the rookies managed to keep the food hot in the cold rain when introducing their main course-chicken, vodka rig, and beer bread. Beer truly ruled the day, not only as the tailgate theme, but also as a means to salute the evening's entertainment....fireworks and strippers!!! The strangers at the corner of the island have earned their right to call 17E's hallowed ground their own.
