FUTBOL AMERICANO Y GRANDE FIESTA DE CUBANO
presented by:
Hu-Rea Productions (Shawn and Gary)
Score of the Game:
Giants 17, Buccaneers 3
Highlights of the Game:
The dominant elements in the game were defense and wind. Not that the Giants were complaining. With their defense suffocating the Tampa Bay offense – despite the absence of three starters - the Giants earned a 17-3 victory over the Buccaneers in breezy Giants Stadium. The victory was the fourth in a row for the 5-2 Giants, matching their longest winning streak under Tom Coughlin. They won four games in a row early in the 2004 season. “We knew that this would be a very difficult game today, coming off the Monday night game (a 36-22 victory in Dallas),” coach Tom Coughlin said. “I was pleased with the way the players responded throughout the week, knowing full well that this was a football team that could very well have come in here with four wins in a row. We were able to overcome the conditions. Both teams had to play in it. I think the fact that we didn’t turn the ball over was critical in the game.” Plaxico Burress (seven-yard reception) and Brandon Jacobs (one-yard run) scored touchdowns for the Giants. Jay Feely kicked a late 31-yard field goal. Although it is two days before Halloween, the weather conditions were similar to those often seen at Thanksgiving. The wind chill was 44 degrees and a steady 20-mile-an-hour wind blew throughout the game, with gusts of more than 30 miles an hour.
Tailgate Highlights:
A Cuban hurricane came sweeping into the Meadowlands courtesy of Hu-Rea Productions this weekend, and while it blew the tailgate a little off course to a neighboring island, the 17E Tailgators managed to withstand the wind (thanks to some creative rigging and weighting) and enjoy the fiesta. The comida Cubano auténtico included a hearty black bean soup, steak with a tasty chimichurri sauce, flan-- hot off the grill, sangria and an amazing assortment of fine Latin beers! It was the perfect day enjoy a fine cigar, while listening to a Guajira-son and tossing some pigs! Just make sure you have a free hand in case the tent starts swaying! Well Done!
