Score of the Game:
Giants 35; Jets 24

Highlights of the Game:

The Giants certainly are living dangerously - and living well. For the second time in three weeks, the Giants on Sunday spotted their opponents a big lead, then rallied for a dramatic and important 35-24 victory over the Jets in Giants Stadium. Talk about living on the edge. Among those players making key contributions were Eli Manning, who had 0.0 first-half quarterback rating; Plaxico Burress, who seldom practices because of a sprained ankle; Jeremy Shockey, who hadn’t scored a touchdown in 10 months; and rookie cornerback Aaron Ross, who didn’t play in the first half for disciplinary reasons. None of that proved to be an impediment. The Giants trailed in the third quarter, 24-14, before Manning threw touchdown passes to Shockey and Burress and Ross intercepted two passes – the first at the goal line on what could have been a Jets touchdown, the second which he returned 43 yards for the game-clinching touchdown with 3:15 remaining.

Tailgate Highlights:
People down the Jersey Shore know how to party. Lyle and family gave us a touch of the sea throughout their menu, as they served up just before the Giants trounced their squatter opponents—the Jets. Seafood chowder, assorted dishes of beef, chicken, and shrimp, strombolis, BBQ baked beans, and pasta filled the 17E (18F) revelers as they tailgated from a new location…right next to the Port-o-Potties. No stench, unless you count Tony and Jose. Total convenience. Competition for the grass islands does seem cut-throat lately, but no points should be lost for Lyle’s lucky land grab. As for the tunes, a loaded I-Pod and Dave’s mix CD’s encouraged several of us to suggest an official Tailgate Stereo with sufficient decibel output for the future…..Maintain the grass island boys!! Great work Lyle and the ladies.
